The Regis basketball program offers three levels of competition: Freshman, JV, and Varsity. Tryouts for all three levels begin in early November, and the regular season begins in early December. Typically each team will play more than 20 games and practice on days when there are no games. All three levels play in the CHSAA's "B" division. The Freshman and JV seasons usually conclude in February while the Varsity’s season can run into March.
In 2016, all three levels finished first or second in their divisional regular season play. All three teams also made it to the semifinals of CHSAA “B” division playoffs.
The Varsity team, guided by longtime Coach Kevin Cullen, has captured City Championships in 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019 and State Championships in 2014 and 2018.
Regis graduates have gone on to play basketball at the following schools: Carnegie Mellon, Davidson, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, Middlebury, Tufts, and Williams.
