Service

The Christian Service Program provides Regians with experiences that stimulate growth in community engagement, relationship building, and social awareness. By introducing active involvement in their community, students will grow in openness to new opportunities and relationships by connecting with others from different backgrounds.

Service Opportunities

During their four years at Regis, students have myriad opportunities to participate in community service. During their freshman year, students engage in service activities as a group as part of their Freshman Retreat. During sophomore and junior year, students participate in community service for 20 and 25 hours respectively, often at a local school, parish, or other institution. During senior year, Regians devote each Wednesday morning to a selected service site.

Catalyst

Catalyst, Regis's Christian Service club, empowers students to be servants to their community through volunteering. Each year, more than two dozen student-led Catalyst initiatives address the diverse needs of the Regis and New York City communities.

Third Trimester for Seniors

In their third trimester, seniors choose from one of three options. One is an academic option, in which they take elective courses. Another is a Christian Service option, in which they volunteer four-and-a-half days each week at a service site. They may also choose a hybrid option, Social Justice in Action, in which they divide their time between service and in-school project work. Regardless of their choice, all seniors gather together one afternoon a week for Social Justice Seminars.
