Language
The Language Department offers courses in French, Spanish, German, Chinese, and Latin. Students are expected to complete three years of study in one language and can take a fourth year as an elective. All languages are valued for their cultural and historical significance, fostering communication skills and providing insights into diverse traditions and societies.

Latin Research Project
This elective allows students with a passion for the classics to deepen their understanding of Latin. In this year-long program for academic credit, students work independently and as a cohort under the advisement of a faculty member. Additionally, students can choose a one-trimester program built on research conducted at the Institute for Study of the Ancient World.
