Ms. Lee Chua Honored With Patricia Hannon Ignatian Educator Award

Assistant Principal for Academics Ms. Lee Chua was honored with the 2026 Patricia Hannon Ignatian Educator Award at the annual Spring Convocation on Monday. Ms. Chua, who joined Regis as a math teacher in 2004, was celebrated for her leadership, her care for each individual in our community, and her dedication to the Jesuit value of cura personalis, or care for the whole person.

Colleagues praised Ms. Chua for being an insightful and collaborative partner who approaches her work with openness and is deeply committed to the well-being of the Regis community.

"She consistently goes above and beyond for both students and faculty," wrote one nominator. "Whether covering classes for teachers, proctoring exams, or offering to host study halls, Ms. Chua’s generosity knows no bounds."

The award is named for the late Mrs. Patricia Hannon, a profound presence in the Regis Science Department for 23 years. Hannon left a lasting mark on decades of chemistry students and was revered by her peers for her approach and commitment to teaching. Since her passing in 2005, an award in her memory has been bestowed on a member of the faculty who, like Mrs. Hannon, has contributed to student development inside and outside of the classroom.

Ms. Chua's name will appear alongside those of former winners on a plaque in the 84th Street foyer.
