Regians Show Off School Pride for Spirit Week

Students, faculty, and staff are taking part in Regis's annual Spirit Week — four days of activities, competitions, and grub days leading up to Friday's annual basketball tripleheader against Xavier.

On Tuesday, the faculty hung on to defeat the seniors 40-37 in the annual senior-faculty basketball game. Other events Tuesday included a paper airplane contest and trivia at lunchtime. Regians on Tuesday were encouraged to wear the jersey of their favorite sports team.

On Wednesday, brave faculty and staff members took part in the Hot Ones Challenge, answering questions while enduring increasingly spicy bites of chicken. Earlier in the day, the sophomore team prevailed in the freshman-sophomore basketball game, while students wore pajamas for Wednesday's grub day.

After a student vote to choose Thursday’s theme, the day was designated as “Anything but a Backpack Day,” with Regians carrying their books throughout the building in creative ways. Also on Thursday, the juniors won the junior-senior basketball game despite some creative scorekeeping, while students took part in a Spikeball tournament, a Clash Royale tournament, and lunchtime trivia.

On Friday, students filled the auditorium for a lively pep rally in advance of the annual basketball tripleheader against Xavier. With the Rock Music Club providing music to hype up the crowd, Regians formed a sea of red to salute our teams before our players and fans head down to 16th Street for the games.
