Regis Celebrates Christmas Liturgy
The Regis community gathered on Friday for its annual Christmas liturgy at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola. History and Latin teacher Rev. Arthur Bender, SJ, '67 served as the primary celebrant. He was joined on the altar by President Rev. Christopher Devron, SJ; Vice President for Ignatian Identity and Formation Rev. James Ferus, SJ; and Special Assistant for Ignatian Formation Rev. Kevin Spinale, SJ.
During his homily, Fr. Bender asked the Regis community to reflect on the Christmas season.
"Let us recall that God has given to us and to our world a great, loving, and generous gift — the gift of Himself," said Fr. Bender. "Let us commit ourselves to being the kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and generous people we are called to be — not only in the Christmas season, but indeed throughout the whole year."
Regis's Liturgical Music Club, along with Music Director Mr. Jacob Elkin, provided music for the Mass, leading our community in Christmas songs such as "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and "Silent Night."
