Jeffrey Suliveres '16 Returns to Regis as Associate Director of Admissions

Jeffrey Suliveres ’16, a Regis and REACH alumnus with experience serving students throughout New York City, joined Regis High School’s Admissions Office in August to serve as the school’s Associate Director of Admissions. A new position at Regis, the Associate Director of Admissions will support the existing admissions team to help enhance the school’s recruitment strategies.

A native of the South Bronx, Suliveres graduated from the REACH Program in 2012. After graduating from Regis in 2016, he attended Amherst College, where he went on to earn degrees in Psychology, Black Studies, and Latinx and Latin American Studies. With a passion for the accessibility of education, Suliveres chaired Amherst’s Latinx student union and served as a telementor to first-generation, low income, and minority students applying to college. Prior to returning to Regis, Suliveres taught 6th grade ELA at Leadership Prep Canarsie, a charter school in the Uncommon Schools network.

“We are thrilled to have Jeffrey join our admissions team,” Director of Admissions Eric DiMichele said. “He is smart, passionate, and committed to social justice – the very embodiment of the Regis mission. He is determined to make sure Regis is accessible to every promising Catholic young man in the metropolitan area.”

First identified as a need during the formation of Regis’ Strategic Plan, the newly created position serves as a means to promote deeper relationships between Regis and students throughout the New York City metropolitan area, particularly those from underserved communities. These efforts will allow the school to reach a broader pool of talented Catholic applicants at a time when the number of Catholic grammar schools in New York has declined significantly.

“The part of my work I look most forward to is providing access to more families about the life-changing gift a Regis education can provide,” Suliveres said. “Through increasing the number of families we reach, we will continue to cultivate the next generation of Regians dedicated to a life of leadership, generosity, and service to others, representative of our society today and reimagining the possibilities of tomorrow.”
