Regians Attend Arrupe Leaders Summit

This weekend, a group of six Regis juniors attended the 2024 Arrupe Leaders Summit in Sparks, Maryland. Sponsored by the Ignatian Solidarity Network, the Arrupe Leaders Summit invites emerging student leaders from high schools and parishes nationwide to deepen their understanding of "a faith that does justice."

Throughout the weekend's program, dozens of students had the chance to explore various leadership techniques through the lens of Fr. Pedro Arrupe, SJ's life. Fr. Arrupe, a former Superior General of the Society of Jesus, is known for demonstrating an emphasis on serving those in need as well as recognizing social justice as central to one's faith.

At the summit, the attending students connected through various small group conversations, group activities, and personal reflection time. To put the messaging into action, the students also learned about the types of social justice initiatives they can bring back to their respective communities.
