Mission Statement

The Custodian is an hourly, full-time, 12-month position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Facility (‘the School’) and the surrounding property. Schedule is 5 days/week, including some weekend days. Weekday shift is 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Weekend assigned shifts are typically 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Summer hours may vary.

Specifically, the Custodian will:

  • Maintain floors of the School: sweeping, scrubbing, mopping and waxing
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles and collect recycling
  • Clean, sanitize and supply bathrooms
  • Keep School building and School property in clean and orderly condition
  • Event set-up and reorganization
  • Requisition supplies and equipment as needed to perform essential functions
  • Accept and distribute deliveries to the School and to/from the Mailroom
  • Clean 3rd floor Faculty and Staff kitchen, dishes and counter tops
  • Snow removal, including being on-call for unexpected storms
  • Report any safety, sanitary or fire hazards to the DOF
  • Monitor building security and safety: lock and unlock windows, doors and gates, as needed and/or required
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Availability to work nights and weekends, as assigned
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Comfortable squatting, twisting, bending and kneeling while performing maintenance tasks
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Additionally the Custodian:

  1. supports the Jesuit/Catholic mission of the school;
  2. works in collaboration with the administration in observing the principles and ideals for which Regis High School stands and should conduct himself/herself at all times in a manner which shall not bring reproach upon himself/herself;
