Spotlight:
Owl, the Places You'll Go!
Like Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Regis High School inspires it students and alumni as well as their families and friends to "go forth and set the world on fire." Whether at home, work, or traveling the world, the Regis community brings the spirit of Saint Ignatius with them wherever they go. Help us this Centennial year to showcase the places Regis has touched. Download and print the owl PDF linked below (or tear out the copy provided in the Winter 2014 Alumni News Magazine) and showcase it in a photo to be included in a digital collage we are creating titled "Owl, the Places You'll Go!" Email your photo to prowlings@regis.org.

A Look Back
Academy Awards
With the 2014 Oscars just a little over a week away, we wondered: How many Regians have walked away with a coveted Academy Award? Of the approximately 2,700 statuettes that have been handed out since the initial awards in 1929, we know of two awarded to Regians, and at least one more Regian was nominated for an Academy Award. Read a summary of those three Regians and the films they were associated with here. If you know of someone we missed, please email us at centennial@regis.org and let us know!

Actors & Directors
Our Oscars research had us wondering: How many Regians have earned roles in movies, television, or on Broadway, as actors, writers, or directors? View an initial list of Regis actors and directors here, and help us add to the list. Email us the names of other alumni who have appeared on screen (or behind a script!) and provide details on the movies, television shows, plays, or musicals they were involved in. Please send those details to centennial@regis.org (photos encouraged!).

1918's 25th Reunion
70 years ago this month, the February 1944 Regis Alumni Newsletter documented the then recently-celebrated 25th anniversary dinner for the Class of 1918, the first class to graduate from Regis. Reprinted here are reflections on the milestone celebrated by that pioneer class all those years ago. The reflections touch on some memories all sons of Regis carry and remind us—as Virgil wrote—that "one day, we will look back on this and smile."
