Regis Gathers for Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Service

The Regis community gathered Friday for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Service, with student and faculty members of the Diversity Committee leading the school in prayer and reflection.

Guided by the theme of this year’s service, “Community Over Division — Working for Peace,” student leaders called upon the community to reflect on the importance of unity, collaboration, and mutual respect in fostering a peaceful and inclusive environment for all.

“Community is not just a gathering of people; it is the shared belief that we are stronger together, bound by our common humanity,” said Lucas Bujosa ‘26. “Community sees diversity not as a threat but as a treasure — a reminder that every voice has value and every story has a place.”

The Regis Jazz Band provided music for the prayer service, closing out the program with a performance of Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.”
