With Thanks to Our Departing Faculty & Staff
Regis bids farewell to thirteen faculty and staff members who departed Regis at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year for retirement or to pursue new opportunities.

Dr. Gary Tocchet has generously and tirelessly served in the critical role of Principal of Regis High School for the last twelve years. The first layperson to hold this role at Regis, he has steered the life of the school with what can only be described as love. While guiding Regis through successful accreditation cycles and Ignatian Identity and Sponsorship Reviews, he never lost his passion for teaching, and taught a history class every year while also serving as principal. A graduate of Fordham Preparatory and the US Military Academy at West Point, he also earned a doctorate from Stanford University. Prior to coming to Regis he taught for 14 years at West Point, and commuted to Regis every day from his home near there, an indication of his commitment to Regis. Our students, faculty, and alumni salute Dr. Tocchet for his commitment to our mission and his leadership through these past 12 years.

Donna Basile taught all four levels of Spanish and the first two levels of French during her 24-year tenure on the Regis faculty. She has served on the Regis Admissions Committee and has been the moderator of the Spanish and Latin American Cultural Society. For many years, she was a popular sophomore academic advisor and the Language Department Chair. Senorita Basile has also been one of the most involved faculty members in the spiritual life of the Regis community over the years. She was described by a former student as “such an effective teacher—bright, quick, engaging, but also taking interest in how students developed as people”. She has been extremely dedicated to each and every one of her students. The Regis community is grateful for her 24 years of service.

Justin Kiczek, 7 years
Justin served as member of the English Department since 2011 and chaired the school’s Curriculum Review. He leaves Regis to serve as Vice President of Programs at the Turrell Fund, which supports organizations that provide quality services to at-risk children.

Rev. James P. Croghan, SJ, 7 years
Father Croghan served Regis as the Director of Ignatian Programs. As an act of great generosity, Fr. Croghan also served as the 22nd president of Regis for the 2015-2016 school year. He has been missioned as superior of the Jesuit Community at Boston College High School.

Kyle Mullins ’05, 6 years
